Bride and Groom Feedback

"If you are planning to get married in Charleston SC and have an outdoor wedding, make sure you consider the weather before you pick a date. We got married in July and it was really hot and most folks in my wedding party complained about it. Some of our relatives who came for the wedding are older and the heat got to them too. Fortunately the wedding was at 11:00am so we got to the reception at the Francis Marion Hotel early enough to beat the heat of the day. Hope this helps someone with their plans."

"We honeymooned in Charleston and it was filled with good weather, great seafood at downtown restaurants, a few walks along the Battery at sunset and shopping on at the Market and on King Street. We also found a cupcake bakery that rivaled my favorite place in NYC."

"We are planning to get married on Folly Beach this October once the tourists are gone and the weather is cooler. I have vacationed at Folly since I was a child and my fiance is from Maryland and we both want a beach wedding. I spent a lot of time researching photographers who had experience with beach weddings and then spent even more time talking to them about what to expect. One thing I learned is that if your ceremony is actually on the sand then you can forget high heals and it is best to use sandals or flip flops. We even found some South Carolina branded flip flops that have the Palmetto Tree on them. We bought them ahead of time and gave them to our bridesmaids and groomsmen and they really were a hit!"

"Both my fiance and my family have come to Charleston for vacations and when we were making our wedding plans, we both knew that we wanted to get married in Charleston SC at the Battery. It took a while to find a wedding planner that had actually done a wedding at the Battery but she had all the connections with the florist, the caterer, the photographer, and someone to make a video for us. Now that all those arrangements are made, we are just excited about our day, and as I write this, my fiance just surprised me with a gift to a day spa in downtown Charleston so now I’m really ready!"

"My husband surprised me with a week long honeymoon in Charleston SC at the Battery Carriage House Inn Bed and Breakfast and it was more than I could have dreamed of. We walked and shopped all over Charleston, ate at the best restaurants (Oak Steakhouse was my favorite) and spent several afternoons just standing on the Battery wall watching the boats in the harbor and feeding the seagulls. One of the best parts was taking the carriage ride tour of downtown where we learned so much more about Charleston than we ever knew before."
